CHRIS J. GONZALEZ PH.D.
lICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST
Hi. My name is Dr. Chris J. Gonzalez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#905). For over 20 years I have worked with individuals, couples, and families to find solutions to some of the most common and most challenging mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual problems. I am also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor who supervises emerging therapists on their way to full licensure.
I currently serve as the program director of Lipscomb University's Marriage and Family Therapy Masters program, a program I co-founded in 2012. My doctorate in Family Social Science is from the University of Minnesota and my masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is from Abilene Christian University.
I take a straight forward, solution oriented approach with a focus on the stories my clients tell about their lives. It is my goal to help the clients solve problems and reach goals by accessing their existing strengths proven effective in other parts of their lives, acquiring new tools and skills to address the the sometimes rapidly changing world around them, and to reach for self-sufficiency as soon as possible. My therapy is usually brief ranging between 8 and 16 session.
Here is my Curriculum Vitae.
